From the Archives:

Sometimes you need to stop on the side of the mountain to look ahead at the splendor awaiting you.

Further up and further in!

Kauai, NaPaLi Coast, Watercolour.

I painted a little while standing on a wide spot of the Kalalau Trail, allowing space for others to keep walking or stand and rest from their labour nearby.

These two watercolours were among the first en plein aire paintings I’ve made. I've always been timid about painting in public. A bit silly really because beyond mild interest from the occasion passerby, no one is watching let alone judging. And these days i’ve learned to bother less and less about someone, some stranger's judgement. Good on me. I’m finally growing into myself.

As I find more entries into that travel art journal I'll add them to the blog here. It will be nice to see them in different context than the oft-closed pages of a sketch book.
